After breakfast, set out for a half-day city tour of Muscat — a fascinating fusion of old-world heritage and contemporary beauty.

After breakfast, check out and begin your journey inland to Oman’s mountain heartland.
First, visit Nizwa, the former capital and one of Oman’s most picturesque cities. Explore the Nizwa Fort, famous for its massive round tower, and stroll through the Nizwa Souk, where silver jewelry, pottery, and dates are local specialties.
Continue to the scenic village of Birkat Al Mauz, where you can walk through lush date plantations and traditional irrigation channels known as falaj — part of Oman’s UNESCO heritage.
From here, travel through Wadi Al Madeen, a dry riverbed that winds dramatically into the mountains, leading to Jabal Akhdar — “The Green Mountain” — perched 2,000 meters above sea level.
